So sánh nhất
- Thường được dùng khi so sánh 3 người hoặc 3 vật trở lên với những cấu trúc như sau:
* Cấu trúc
- Tính từ ngắn (Short adj):
S + V + the + adj/adv + est + N/pronoun
+ Thêm đuôi “est” ở sau tính từ và phó từ trong câu.
- Tính từ dài (Long adj):
S + V + the most + adj/adv + N/pronoun
+ Thêm most hoặc least trước tính từ so sánh.
Lưu ý:
+ Dùng giới từ “in” với danh từ số ít.
+ Sử dụng giới từ “of” với danh từ số nhiều.
+ Thành ngữ: One of the + so sánh nhất + noun => noun là số nhiều, động từ chia ở số ít.
+ Một số tính từ tuyệt đối không được dùng so sánh hơn nhất: Unique, extreme, perfect, top, prime, primary, absolute, supreme.
VD: She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

- Câu so sánh với tính từ ngắn theo nguyên tắc
+ Tính từ kết thúc bởi 1 phụ âm hoặc e
VD: tall → taller → the tallest; large → larger → largest
+ Tính từ kết thúc với 1 nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm
VD: big → bigger → the biggest
+ Tính từ kết thúc bởi y
VD: happy → happier → the happiest
- Câu so sánh với tính từ và trạng từ ngắn không theo nguyên tắc
+ Với một số tính từ, trạng từ đặc biệt sau, chúng không tuân theo quy tắc chung của các tính từ, trạng từ khác bạn cần ghi nhớ.
VD: good/well → better → the best; bad/badly → worse → the worst; Far → Farther/ further → The farthest/ the furthest; Much/ many → More → The most; Little → Less → The least; Old → Older/ elder → The oldest/ the eldest
* So sánh nhất có thể được bổ nghĩa bằng “by far”.
VD: He is the greatest by far.
(Anh ấy tuyệt vời nhất, hơn mọi người nhiều.)
